Job Description:

Under general supervision, prepares surface of parts and assembled products for protective materials such as paint, epoxies, or enamel to detailed specification requirements (blueprints/engineering and/or manufacturing process documentation/etc.). Seal products to specifications with Epoxy Sealant Syringe per specification requirements. Properly unmask and clean finished products per specification requirements. Use of machinery to clean mounting holes on specific products. Selects and mixes proper coating material to coat areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using a small detail brush.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning and masking over areas that are not to be coated per specification requirements.
  • Apply Epoxy Sealant per specification requirements.
  • Apply accurate and consistent marking, serial numbers and date codes per specification requirements.
  • Perform detailed touch-up of units by hand with the use of a Scope Camera.
  • Ensure correct and proper placement of marking, serial numbers and date codes.
  • Mask, Seal, Mark/Label and Touch-up paint products to specification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • The ability to focus and concentrate for extended periods of time while performing detailed touch-up of units by hand with the use of a Scope Camera.
  • Must be able to retrieve and interpret electronically stored specifications/blueprints/engineering drawings to ensure correct and proper placement of marking, serial numbers and date codes.
  • Must have good coordination and dexterity to apply accurate and consistent marking, serial numbers and date codes per specification requirements.
  • Must be highly detail oriented and accurate to ensure the finish of unmasking and touch-up of paint is the highest of standards.
  • Ability to evaluate/inspect own work to ensure quality, accuracy and conformance to engineering and/or process documentation.
